Club Meetings and Stuff

Spring Break is upon us and with that so is the dive season. That means its time to start the club meetings.
This season starts off with some adventure.
The Club Meeting will Launch Saturday March 20th at 5:00 pm with an open house to check out all of the new products and store layout.

At 5:00 Down Under is proud to Host our Local Underwater Archeologist and Treasure Hunter, Chris Litton. Chris will be teaching you about techniques and the tools needed to find the loot. He will also talk about where to find local artifacts, his displays, U/W Metal detectors, and a seminar on how to build an electrolysis machine to preserve your relics.

The Seminar is free for all Club members and a guest.
Annual club membership is $25. Includes 2010 Member shirt and Discount Card.
There will be snacks and beverages. So please rsvp so we know how much chow to get.

We just finished charging the batteries for 3 brand new DPVs at Down Under. Come check them out and rent one or take your PADI DPV Diver class. They are a ton of fun!!!

Here are the hard and fast regulations that we must follow as gas blenders and safe divers.   No cylinders will be overfilled more than 10% period. Here are the facts. FICTION: Fill Station Operators do not have to be trained FACT:  The truth is that the US Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49, requires "Function Specific" training for all employees.  If they fill cylinders they need Fill Station Operator training. Dive The Historical Whiskey Wreck with Down Under Dive Shop

  The Whiskey Wreck is a shore dive from Gulf Shores located roughly 150 yards due south of the beach and Bahama Bob’s Café. It lays just beyond a sandbar offshore, and that sandbar provides a useful landmark and staging area. The wreck is a 200-foot rum runner boat in less than 20 feet of water. That depth is shallow enough for snorkelers, non-divers on a Discover Scuba Dive, and Open Water divers alike to enjoy the wreck.
